THE FESTIVAL OF HISTORY will take place on March 9th/10th at Reynella in South Australia. Council and Government funded the event will take place over a display area of 4.5 kilometres. Wargamers will produce a huge re-fight of LEIPZIG 1813 in the town hall along with many other wargame events in the hall and through the town. Military Reenactors will be present in large numbers to present a WW2 battle representation at one end of the town and Napoleonic battle at the other end.

The roar or artillery and cannon will thunder out over the area along with the rattle of machineguns and the boom of muskets.

Over 100 schools have been invited to take part in the MY SCHOOL HISTORY competition and many are already planning their presentations.
The RSL will present a special VIETNAM display with genuine equipment from the era.
Historical groups Australia wide will attend to display a range of history subjects. TV stations have been invited to put on a display of the history of television media in Australia. Newspapers similar. Model railway groups will also take part.

There will be displays of government history, early settlers and many other things. A strong SA Police contingent will celebrate the 175th birthday of SAPOL which was founded by a resident of the district where the festival will be held.
30 food outlets plus brewery and soft drink stands are provided to deal with an attendance expected to exceed 20,000 people.
To ease parking problems the State Government are arranging free buses from northern and southern regions, to feed people into the festival area.

The chateau of the original Reynell Wines, 5 minutes walk from Liepzig
Honoured guests include the Governor, the Premier, the ambassadors of the countries involved in the battle of Leipzig and many other dignitaries. They will also attend the 'dress to 1813' dinner at ST.FRANCIS winery on the evening of the 9th.
The FESTIVAL OF HISTORY is to be an annual event.
